DETECTOR

I worked with choreographer Margret Schutz on composing music for her final Master’s show at Laban Conservatory, in London.

In our contemporary environment we are constantly surrounded by invisible radiation and electromagnetic fields emitted by electronic devices like WiFi,
mobile devices and battery chargers.
Even though we can not see these rays, some people argue that they penetrate
our bodies and might have a severe effect on a cellular level.

In this performance the bodies of the dancers become highly sensitive instruments. The soundscape was recorded in the Studio Theatre with a special microphone that converts electromagnetic waves into audible noises, so that we can ‘hear the room’.
